It started on September 2, 2017. What began as a chance encounter quickly became our 'forever'—a true case of love at first sight.
Our Origin Story (2017)
Our paths first crossed in the dining hall during our first year of medical studies at UCT. Tammy was the one to take the lead, introducing herself with a confidence that immediately captivated Ethan.
For our first date, we headed to the snooker table—though 'playing' was a loose term. We spent more time leaning over the table to be near each other than actually focusing on the game. Between the missed shots and the locked eyes, we completely lost track of the score. In the end, the prize for the winner was a first kiss... and the rest is history.
The Proposal (2024)
Our love story reached its most unforgettable chapter in Thailand — a place that felt less like a destination and more like stepping into a dream. Surrounded by warm air, turquoise water, and the gentle rhythm of island life, the world seemed to slow just for us. It was our little escape from reality, a tropical paradise where time only belonged to the two of us.
On the morning of 29 October 2024, we set out by boat toward the breathtaking Maya Islands, their limestone cliffs rising dramatically from the sea and the lagoon shimmering in every shade of blue. As we drifted into the calm, glass-clear water, everything became quiet — just the ocean, the sunlight, and us.
There, in the middle of that peaceful lagoon, he popped the question. It felt as though the world paused in that moment — the waves, the sky, even our heartbeats. That was the start of forever.
